Tile, Grout & Seal Repairs in West London

Not every tired tiled surface needs replacing. Robert checks the tiles, grout and seals to work out whether a careful repair is enough or the underlying problem needs more work.

What we do

Repairs that deal with the cause

A cracked tile or loose edge may be an isolated problem, but it can also point to movement or a weak surface beneath. Robert checks the cause before replacing tiles, and discusses matching replacements where the original tiles are available. Covering a problem without checking the base is not a lasting repair.

Where tiles are sound but the joints are tired, old grout can be raked out and replaced. Regrouting can refresh a bathroom without removing all the tiles, provided the tiled surface and waterproofing are in good condition. Mosaic and patterned surfaces need particular care around their many small joints.

Silicone around baths, shower trays and worktops is removed and renewed where needed. The junction is prepared before resealing so the new seal is clean and properly bonded. Replacing silicone does not repair failed tanking or hidden leaks, so signs of water damage are assessed rather than simply covered over.

A local repair is often enough for sound tiles with worn grout or seals. Widespread loose tiles, recurring cracks or failed waterproofing may require removal and retiling. Send clear photos and describe the issue when requesting a quote, and Robert will explain the suitable next step without assuming a full refit is necessary.

Repairs are carried out by Robert Rajz, an NVQ Level 3 qualified tiler with 18 years' experience, Gold CSCS card holder and fully insured. A repair should last as long as the tiles around it, so he'd rather be the tiler you're glad you paid for than the lowest quote you regret.

FAQ

Tile, Grout & Seal Repairs: questions

Can you replace just one cracked tile? +

Often, yes. Robert checks why it cracked first, because a crack can point to movement or a weak surface beneath, and discusses matching replacements where the original tiles are available.

Is regrouting worth it? +

Regrouting can refresh a bathroom without removing all the tiles, provided the tiled surface and waterproofing are in good condition.

Will new silicone fix a leak? +

Not on its own. Replacing silicone does not repair failed tanking or hidden leaks, so signs of water damage are assessed rather than simply covered over.

When is retiling better than a repair? +

Widespread loose tiles, recurring cracks or failed waterproofing may require removal and retiling. For sound tiles with worn grout or seals, a local repair is often enough.
