Wet Rooms & Shower Tanking in West London
Water finds every weak spot. We waterproof showers and wet areas properly before tiling, so leaks never get the chance to start.
What we do
Waterproofing first, tiles second
In a shower, grout and tiles aren't the waterproof layer — the tanking behind them is. We apply a full waterproofing system to walls and floors, with tapes at joints and corners, before any tiles go on.
Shower floors need a correct fall so water runs to the drain and nowhere else. We get the falls right first, then choose tile sizes that follow them neatly.
We finish with careful grouting and silicone sealing at every junction, so the shower stays watertight and easy to clean.
Tanking and tiling are both carried out by Robert Rajz, an NVQ Level 3 qualified tiler with 18 years' experience, Gold CSCS card holder and fully insured. Waterproofing is the part you never see, and he'd rather be the tiler you're glad you paid for than the lowest quote you regret.

Process
How a shower tanking job runs
- 01
Strip back: old tiles come off and the walls and floor are checked so the waterproofing goes onto a sound surface.
- 02
Falls: the shower floor is formed so water runs to the drain and nowhere else.
- 03
Tanking: a full waterproofing system goes onto walls and floor, with tapes at every joint and corner.
- 04
Tile choice: tile sizes are chosen to follow the falls neatly, from large-format porcelain to mosaic.
- 05
Tiling: walls and floor are tiled over the tanking.
- 06
Sealing: careful grouting and silicone at every junction keep the shower watertight and easy to clean.
